Just got home from a 15 hour work day so must go to bed, but wanted to post some pictures from our flying rehearsal today. They are not great lighting-wise because I didn’t want to use my flash, but here they are.
ZFX are the same flying company who do Wicked. The flying in Christmas Carol is mostly done by Natty, who plays one of the Ghostly Apparitions throughout the play. She flies in the Prologue, Marley and the Tombstone scene. The Ghost of Christmas Past also flies at the end of Act 1 (I don’t have any pictures of her because she was pretty freaked out by the whole thing so I thought I would not make things worse by snapping pictures of her!).
We spent five hours on the flying this afternoon and then five hours teching the beginning of Act 1 tonight. We still have a ton to do and our first audience is Tuesday night. And the governor is coming to the show that night!
Hartford Stage borrowed a rescue dummy from the fire department to use for flying practice which everyone has affectionately named “Rescue Randy”.
Okay, now I am off to bed. Another long tech day tomorrow…
